Dmitri Farafontov has a diverse work experience in the field of technology. Dmitri is currently serving as the Lead, Technical Services at MongoDB since December 2022. Prior to this, they worked at EPAM Systems as a Senior System Engineer from June 2021 to December 2022.
Before joining EPAM Systems, Dmitri worked at CaseWare International Inc. as a Senior Cloud Engineer. Dmitri also participated in a monthly on-call rotation to support critical SaaS applications for customers worldwide. Additionally, they provided assistance to product teams in troubleshooting code-related issues utilizing tools like NewRelic. Dmitri worked at CaseWare International Inc. from June 2019 to June 2021.
Prior to their role at CaseWare International Inc., they worked at RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. as a Linux Systems Administrator. Here, they led escalations from a team of ten people and participated in the CloudFlare migration for multiple Kanetix domain brands, enhancing security and reliability for end customers. Dmitri also successfully migrated the Juniper SRX router stack for high availability across three different data centers. Dmitri held this position from March 2015 to June 2019.
Dmitri began their career as a Network Systems Administrator at B Sharp Technologies, where they worked from January 2010 to March 2015.
Dmitri Farafontov obtained an Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems Technology with a specialization in Network Security from Seneca College in the years 2003 to 2006. Following this, they pursued a degree in Information Technology Management from Ryerson University from 2006 to 2008. Later, Dmitri pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Information Technology from York University, completing it from 2013 to 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Dmitri Farafontov earned several certifications. Dmitri obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2022. In December 2013, they also obtained two certifications: VMware Certified Associate - Cloud (VCA-Cloud) and VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCA-DCV) from VMware.
