Sergi Vives

Sergi Vives has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sergi started their career in 2009 as a Junior Web Developer at Digital Addicts, where they worked on various projects for clients such as TNT and the BBC. In 2010, they joined Tango/04 Computing Group as a System Analyst and Developer, where they analyzed complex business problems and translated them into technical specifications.

In 2014, Vives joined Thomson Reuters as a Data Visualization Analyst Intern, designing and implementing a prototype for exploring stock market values and economic indicators. Sergi then moved on to Zodiac Media as a Senior Web Developer, where they took the lead in developing the Care Quality Commission website.

Vives also has teaching experience, serving as a Teacher for the Databases for Videogames module at Escola Pia Balmes in 2017, focusing on implementing database systems in game design scenarios.

From 2016 to 2018, Vives worked at Qlik, first as a Qlik Sense Consultant in EMEA, where they provided advanced consulting services to major clients such as VW and IKEA. Sergi then became a Managing Principal Consultant, leading complex project proposals and shaping proposals with both technical expertise and business awareness.

In 2018, Vives joined MongoDB as a Solutions Architect, providing best-practice advice to customers and users in designing and building reliable, scalable systems using MongoDB. Sergi held various roles at MongoDB, including Senior Solutions Architect, Presales Enablement (EMEA), and Advisory Solutions Architect.

Most recently, Vives has been working at MongoDB as the Presales Solutions Architecture Team Lead for EMEA & APAC, and in August 2022, they became the Manager of Presales Solutions Architecture.

Throughout their career, Vives has demonstrated expertise in software development, data visualization, project management, and consulting, making him a valuable asset in the technology industry.

Sergi Vives completed their education with a Master's Degree in Business Analysis & IT from City, University of London in 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from Universitat Pompeu Fabra from 2003 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Sergi Vives obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Sergi became an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner through Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2021. In March 2021, they completed the course "Data Science and Big Data Analytics: Making Data-Driven Decisions" at MIT xPRO. Sergi Vives also achieved the MongoDB Certified Developer, Associate (C100DEV) certification from MongoDB in June 2019. Furthermore, in June 2012, they obtained the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) from the University of Cambridge.
