Javier Campos, Ph.D has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Javier started their career as a Software/Hardware Consultant Engineer at Maraven SA, where they were responsible for maintaining and developing the SCADA system for controlling electrical distribution substations. Additionally, they supervised field operations and performed wiring and testing of new remotely controlled units.
Javier then worked at the University of Texas at Arlington as a Professor Assistant, supporting the academic needs of the institution.
Next, Campos joined the Automation and Robotics Research Institute at the University of Texas as a Project and Research Engineer. In this role, they specialized in real-time controller implementation and played a key role in control system algorithm design, sensor and actuator procurement, and real-time control software development using various hardware platforms.
Most recently, they served as a Senior Consultant Engineer at MontaVista Software, where they assisted customers with custom Linux ports for their specific architectures. Javier also handled kernel and filesystem customizations for embedded systems and performed device driver and application porting and bring up on Linux platforms.
Javier Campos, Ph.D, pursued their educational journey in the field of Electrical Engineering. From 1994 to 1996, they attended The University of Texas at Arlington and obtained their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE). Later, from 1996 to 2000, they continued their studies at The University of Texas at Arlington - College of Engineering, ultimately earning their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering.
