Evris Gavathiotis is a Professor of Biochemistry and Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, with expertise in molecular mechanisms of cell death and survival signaling, as well as chemical biology and drug discovery of pathological protein-protein interactions. Gavathiotis has held various academic positions, including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the same institution. Additionally, Gavathiotis co-leads the Cancer Therapeutics Program at Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center and is involved in multiple biotech ventures as co-founder and scientific advisor, including Selphagy Therapeutics Inc., Stelexis Therapeutics LLC, and BAKX Therapeutics Inc. Prior experience includes instructorships at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, a postdoctoral fellowship at Rockefeller University, and work as a scientist at De Novo Pharmaceuticals. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biological Chemistry from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Crete.
