Tom Biscan

Tom Biscan has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and companies.

Tom began their career in 2005 as an SEO Lead at adriatica.net, where they optimized the tourism web portal and led a team of three. Tom then moved on to MojPosao as a Senior Web Developer and SEO specialist, where they developed and scaled the job search portal and other web properties.

In 2011, Tom co-founded Shopful and served as the CEO, driving product strategy and providing consulting services to global companies and startups. Tom also worked as a Lead Developer at iPetitions during this time, designing architecture, managing cloud infrastructure, and leading a team of four.

From 2014 to 2015, Tom worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Anaeko, where they delivered mobile apps and implemented UI using Angular.js and Ionic framework. Tom then joined Liberty IT as a Principal Software Engineer, where they architected an enterprise mobile platform, improved app loading performance, and set up CI/CD pipelines.

At IBM, Tom worked as a Senior Software Engineer from 2018 to 2019 and contributed to the development of a globally distributed cloud object storage solution. Tom then served as the Chief Technology Officer at Square Eye Ltd in 2020, where they acted as a consulting CTO and implemented developer processes and automation.

Most recently, Tom joined Monzo Bank in 2021 and served as a Backend Engineer, Tech Lead, and Senior Backend Engineer, Tech Lead. In their role, they helped people with financial difficulties, wrote Golang microservices, and improved platform quality through acceptance tests.

Throughout their career, Tom has gained experience in various technologies and domains, such as backend engineering, mobile app development, cloud infrastructure management, and SEO. Tom has also demonstrated leadership skills and a strong track record of delivering successful projects.

Tom Biscan attended Tehnička škola Ruđera Boškovića from 1999 to 2003, where they completed their high school education with a focus on Electronics. Later, in 2009, they enrolled at Alumni VSITE to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technologies, specializing in Computer Science. The end date for their education at Alumni VSITE is not provided.
