Jimi Okelana

Jimi Okelana has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jimi is currently working as a Senior Design Lead at Moon Creative Lab since March 2023. Prior to this, they founded and served as the CEO of ON-1, Inc. starting from May 2018. Jimi also worked as a Creative Director - Community Partner at Mistletoe, Inc. from September 2017.

Starting from July 2020 to February 2023, Jimi held the role of Chief Design Officer at STANDAGE LTD, where their responsibilities included designing digital transformation solutions to accelerate global trade with emerging markets, specifically focusing on business between Japan and Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa.

From April 2019 to January 2022, they worked as a Creative Director at Machine Learning Tokyo. Prior to that, they were the Content Creation Lead/Senior Creative at EDGEof, Inc. from January 2019 to April 2020. Jimi also served as the Design Lead (Project Based) at Adgo from November 2017 to April 2018.

Jimi's earlier work experience includes working as a Designer at VIVITA, Inc. from December 2015 to August 2017, as well as serving as a Concept Designer at Water Design from January 2015 to January 2017.

Their career began as a UX Designer at COBO Design from September 2011 to January 2017. Overall, Jimi Okelana has demonstrated their expertise in design and leadership roles across various organizations.

Jimi Okelana obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Product Design from Carnegie Mellon University, completing their studies from 2004 to 2007. In 2005, they participated in the Communication Design Course during the summer session at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2008, Jimi attended Nagoya Zokei University as a Research Student, focusing on Product Design for that year. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Media Design at Keio University, where they were recognized on the Dean's List for their exceptional academic performance from 2014 to 2016.
