Shawna Brekke-Read

Shawna Brekke-Read is a seasoned planning professional with extensive experience in community development and planning services. Currently serving as the Director of Planning Services for Northern California at MIG since November 2019, Shawna has held various leadership roles, including Community Development Director for the City of Benicia and Planning Director for the Town of Moraga. Prior to these positions, Shawna operated as a Planning Consultant and held interim management positions, demonstrating a strong background in both public and private sector planning. Shawna's educational foundation includes a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Planning from Sonoma State University.
