Peter Owuor

Peter Owuor, PhD, is a seasoned Materials Scientist at Morgan Advanced Materials since August 2018, where responsibilities include designing and executing material production trials and performance measurement of advanced materials. Prior to this role, Peter contributed as a Research Associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, focusing on carbon fiber precursor alternatives and renewable thermoset resin composites for automotive applications. At Rice University, as a Graduate Research Fellow, Peter developed methodologies for fire-retardant materials and innovative 3D carbon nanostructures. Previous experiences also include synthesizing renewable-source thermoset resins and hybrid composites at Tuskegee University and advancing corrosion mitigation techniques as a Geothermal Engineer at KenGen. Peter holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from Rice University, alongside a Master’s degree from Tuskegee University and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Egerton University.
