Justin Watkins

Justin Watkins has extensive work experience in the field of IT, spanning multiple roles and companies. Justin currently works as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Morning Consult, where they started in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Arch Insurance Group Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer from June 2022 to September 2022.

From 2016 to the present, Justin has been employed at Franklin Templeton as a Principal InfoSec Engineer. Justin'sresponsibilities include deploying and upgrading to Microsoft Teams, managing Exchange Online and other Office 365 applications, Okta configuration and support, PowerShell scripting for reporting and user updates, system documentation, email gateway support, Intune and Conditional Access updates, and general Office 365 security.

In 2016, Justin worked at Perficient as a Lead Technical Consultant, focusing on migrating companies to Office 365. Justin worked on a project for a global financial company with multiple environments that needed to be migrated to Office 365.

From 2012 to 2016, Justin worked at Time Warner Cable as a Messaging Operations Team Lead. Justin'sresponsibilities included Exchange server builds, PowerShell scripting for automation, Exchange migrations, disaster recovery documentation, Lync server builds, and operations support. Justin also led the migration of a major university from Exchange 2010 to Office 365.

In 2012, Justin worked at Penson Financial Services as a Senior Systems Administrator. Prior to that, they worked at Citi as an Exchange Integrations Specialist from 2010 to 2012, where they were involved in various projects, including migrating Public Folder data from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010.

Before joining Citi, Justin worked at Levi Strauss & Co. from 2005 to 2010 as a Messaging Engineer. Justin'sresponsibilities included Exchange migrations, Active Directory design, Exchange production support, SharePoint support, and implementation of various ITIL processes.

Justin's career also includes roles at Good Fulton & Farrell as a Senior Network Administrator from 2004 to 2005, and at CONEXIS as a Network Team Manager / Database Administrator from 2003 to 2004. In both roles, they managed staff and networks, including Active Directory Servers.

Justin Watkins earned their Bachelor's degree in Theology from Seminary, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications including HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (002) from HashiCorp in September 2022, Amazon Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in September 2016, and ITIL V3 Foundations certification. Justin also holds certifications from Linux Professional Institute (LPI Linux Essentials), Microsoft (MCSE and MCTS Exchange 2007), although the exact dates of completion are unknown.
