Doug Napoleone

Doug Napoleone has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Doug is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Motional since November 2020. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Genturi from December 2019 to November 2020. Doug also spent a significant amount of time at Nuance Communications, where they held the position of Sr. Principal Software Engineer from September 2009 to October 2019 and Senior Research Engineer from October 2005 to September 2009. Additionally, Doug was involved with the Python Software Foundation as a member since 2007 and served as a Board of Directors member from 2009 to 2014. Doug was also a Product Architect at SeaChange International from August 2012 to April 2013. Before that, they worked at Scansoft Inc. as a Senior Research Engineer from February 2002 to October 2005. Doug's early career includes roles at Lernout & Hauspie Speech Prod. as a Senior Research Engineer from February 2001 to February 2002, Principal Software Engineer from December 1999 to February 2001, Senior Software Engineer from September 1998 to December 1999, and Software Engineer from August 1997 to September 1998.

Doug Napoleone attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology from 1994 to 1997, earning a BCS degree in Computer Science from the School of Engineering. Prior to that, they attended the University of Rhode Island from 1991 to 1994, studying Electrical Computer Engineering.
