Karl Iagnemma

Karl Iagnemma is the President & CEO of Motional. Karl was previously the President and CEO of the Hyundai-Aptiv Autonomous Driving Joint Venture from March 2020 to August 2020. Prior to that, they were the President, Autonomous Mobility at Aptiv from November 2017 to March 2020. Karl was also the CEO and Co-Founder of nuTonomy from August 2013 to November 2017. Additionally, Karl has been a Guest Professor at Halmstad University from January 2013 to July 2017 and a Visiting Researcher at National Technical University of Athens from September 2007 to September 2008.

Karl Iagnemma's educational career includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Robotics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as degrees in Applied Mathematics and Fiction Writing from Trinity College Dublin. Karl also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
