Laura Owens

Laura Owens is an experienced English teacher currently engaged with Mountain Brook Schools since July 2022. Prior to this role, Laura taught at Union County Public Schools from August 2017 to July 2022 and at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools from January 2016 to June 2017, focusing on lesson planning, grading, and collaboration with colleagues. Laura's earlier career included various positions in journalism, including roles as a sports writer and intern at notable publications such as The Associated Press, The Post-Star, and The Tuscaloosa News. Laura holds a Master's Degree in Secondary Education and Teaching and a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism, both from The University of Alabama.
