Fares Khater MD serves as the Chief of Infectious Diseases at Appalachian Regional Healthcare since July 2008 and has held a similar position at Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation since August 2003. Fares Khater obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree through an Infectious Disease Residency Program at East Tennessee State University from 2001 to 2003, and completed a Transplant Infectious Diseases rotation at Vanderbilt University in 2001. Previous training includes serving as Chief Resident during an Internal Medicine Residency at East Tennessee State University from 2000 to 2001, and completing an Internal Medicine Residency at East Tennessee State University from 1998 to 2000, along with an internship in Internal Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University from 1997 to 1998. Fares Khater earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Universite Saint Joseph from 1990 to 1997.
