Mark Devaughn

Mark DeVaughn is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in journalism and internal communications. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Specialist for California State Retirees since May 2020, Mark authors content for the largest advocacy group for retired state employees and oversees key communications projects. Freelancing as a News and Sports Correspondent for the Mountain Democrat since 2014, Mark produces articles and digital content while maintaining a diplomatic role between the publication and local schools. Previous roles include Internal Communications Manager at Dignity Health, where Mark developed strategic communications to enhance employee engagement and patient experience, and Marketing/Communications Specialist at Marshall Medical Center. With a background in sports writing and media relations, Mark has contributed to various publications and organizations, including 247Sports and Health Net. Mark holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Syracuse University.
