Jana Wu

Jana Wu, LCSW, LADC, CASAC Advanced, CAC has a diverse work experience in the field of social work and counseling. Jana is currently working at Mountainside as the Director of Cultural Integration, overseeing the integration of cultural practices into addiction treatment. Prior to this role, they served as the Outpatient Program Manager in Chappaqua, NY, where they provided individualized addiction treatment and accommodated clients' schedules. Jana has been employed by Mountainside since 2018 and has also worked as a Clinician, providing psychotherapy and facilitating support groups.

In 2019, Jana Wu joined RVNAhealth as a Hospice Medical Social Worker, where their responsibilities included providing support to healthcare workers treating Covid-19 patients and offering bereavement support.

From 2012 to 2015, they worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a Substance Use Disorders Treatment Program LCSW, providing therapy to veterans and facilitating various therapeutic groups. Prior to this, Jana Wu worked at Mountainside as a Residential Counselor, where they were responsible for facilitating psychoeducational and skill-building groups and creating gender-specific programs for women in recovery.

Jana'sexperience also includes serving as a Clinical Social Work Intern at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where they conducted intake assessments, provided individual and family therapy, and co-facilitated coping skills and art therapy groups.

Earlier in their career, Jana Wu worked as a Clinical Social Work Intern at South Sound Mental Health Svcs, providing therapy to adults with dual diagnoses, and as a Direct Care Counselor at NAFI CT Inc., where they facilitated groups and provided psychoeducation to adolescent females in residential treatment.

Jana began their career at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Patient Liaison, offering direct patient care and assisting families and patients in the neurology and neurosurgery department.

Throughout their work experience, Jana Wu has focused on providing specialized care, including addiction treatment, mental health support, and therapy for veterans and individuals with diverse cognitive and physical abilities.

Jana Wu, LCSW, LADC, CASAC Advanced, CAC, has a diverse education history that has equipped their with the necessary skills and knowledge for their profession. Jana obtained their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Smith College in 2009 after completing a program focused on social work. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Thought Political Economy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the years 1997 to 2001.

In addition to their formal education, Jana Wu has pursued additional certifications to further enhance their professional expertise. Jana obtained certification as a SIFI from the Springfield School for Social Work in May 2021. In 2018, they were granted a license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the New York State Education Department. Furthermore, they completed a certification in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Depression in November 2014, facilitated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Jana Wu also obtained certification in Motivational Enhancement Therapy from the same institution in 2013.

Moreover, Jana Wu holds licenses as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, granted by the Connecticut Department of Public Health in October 2011. Jana also earned certification as a Certified Hospice Volunteer from the Visiting Nurse Association in October 2009.

Lastly, Jana Wu possesses a background in Communication and Media Studies, having studied at Emerson College in 1996 and 1997.
