Dongbo An

Dongbo An is a seasoned metallurgical engineer with extensive experience in the mining and minerals industry. Currently serving as Lead Metallurgical Engineer at MP Materials since February 2020, Dongbo previously held roles at Freeport-McMoRan, where responsibilities included managing milling processes at a Cu/Mo concentrator and assisting in the commissioning of the OCS-4D Grinding Expert Control System. With a PhD in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of Arizona, Dongbo contributed to innovative research on improving flotation recovery of rare earth minerals, and also completed several internships within the same company focusing on flotation optimization and ore bond working index projects.
