Alwyn Makuba has extensive work experience in the education and sports sectors. ALWYN is currently working as the Head of Sports Studies for the IB Program at MPESA Foundation Academy since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Braeburn schools ltd from 2018 to 2021 as a Btec Sport Teacher, Head of Boarding, and a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Alwyn also has experience as a Sports Supervisor at Karen Country Club from 2017 to 2018, where they managed sports staff, organized events, and tournaments. ALWYN worked at St. Christopher's Schools from 2013 to 2016 as a P.E Sports, Business/BTEC Teacher. Additionally, Alwyn has worked as a Sports Tutor and House Parent at Aga Khan Academy Mombasa from 2012 to 2013. ALWYN started their career as a Graduate Clerk at Kenya Commercial Bank from 2011 to 2012.
Alwyn Makuba attended the University of Nairobi from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in Arts. ALWYN'sfield of study included Physical Education and Sports, as well as Business Studies.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Alwyn Makuba has acquired several certifications in various sports coaching disciplines. In February 2013, they obtained an IB Certification from The Aga Khan Academies. In December 2012, they became a Jump Rope Judge certified by World Jump Rope. In January 2013, they completed Basketball Coaching training offered by FIBA. Alwyn also obtained a Swimming Coaching certification from the American Swimming Coaches Association in December 2013. In February 2014, they earned a Cricket Coaching certification from Cricket Without Boundaries. Alwyn obtained their Rugby Level 1 Coaching certification from the International Rugby Board in October 2016, and lastly, they received a Level 1 Football Coaching certification from the Football Kenya Federation in July 2018.
