Joanne Tetens-Woodring

Joanne Tetens-Woodring has worked in various roles since 1993. Joanne began their career as an Equine Surgery Resident and Graduate Student at Michigan State University, followed by an Equine Surgeon role at Carolina Equine Clinic. In 1997, they became an Equine Emergency Clinician and Graduate Student at Louisiana State University. Joanne then moved to Aeolus Animal Hospital & Equine Center in 2001, where they worked as an Equine Surgeon. In 2005, they joined Columbia University Medical Center as a Lab Animal Resident, Clinical Vet, Chief of Comparative Surgery, and Associate Director. In 2008, they became the Director and Attending Veterinarian at Arizona State University. In 2013, they took on the roles of Research Associate Professor, Department of Surgery and Director and Attending Veterinarian at the University of Cincinnati. In 2017, they began working as an Attending Veterinarian at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Finally, in 2019, they became a Program Manager at MPF FEDERAL LLC, and in 2021 they began working as an Attending Veterinarian at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Joanne Tetens-Woodring has a long and varied educational history. Joanne began their studies in 1982, receiving an Associate's degree from S.U.N.Y. Farmingdale in Veterinary/Animal Health Technology/Technician and Veterinary Assistant. Joanne then went on to Cornell University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences in 1985-1987. After that, they attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a DVM in Veterinary Medicine in 1988-1992. Joanne then went on to Michigan State University, where they earned a Master's degree in Veterinary Clinical Sciences in 1993-1996. Finally, they completed their education in 1997-2001 at Louisiana State University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Comparative Biomedical Sciences.
