Marcelo Costa

Marcelo Costa is a seasoned data professional currently serving as a Senior Data Specialist at MRS Logística S.A. since January 2024. Prior to this role, Marcelo was the Global Group Data Product Manager at BEES from April 2022 to October 2023, overseeing a team of product managers and data platform engineers to ensure data quality and manage scalable data products. At Ambev, Marcelo held dual roles as a Data Product Manager and Data Scientist from October 2019 to March 2022, leading projects that generated over $3M USD in EBITDA and implementing machine learning applications across various operational areas. Marcelo's academic background includes a PhD in Probability Theory and Stochastic Modelling from Durham University, a Master's degree in Probability and Statistics, and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, both from Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Additionally, Marcelo has extensive teaching experience in statistics and mathematics at various academic institutions.
