Dwyer Deighan

Dwyer Deighan is a Data Science Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth since September 2021 and concurrently serves as a Data Scientist at MSBAI (Techstars '20) since May 2021. Previous roles include Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from August to December 2020, where Dwyer validated a technique for manipulating word embedding dimensions, and Research Assistant at the same institution from June 2017 to June 2020, contributing to a paper on genetic-algorithm-optimized neural networks for gravitational wave classification. Dwyer also gained experience as a Data Science Intern at Brown University during the summer of 2016, focusing on a business-geocoding project utilizing OCR and image processing techniques. Dwyer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, a Master of Science in Data Science, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Data Science at the University at Buffalo, expected to graduate in May 2024.
