Melba Castro

Melba Castro, Ph.D., currently serves as the Vice President of Student Services at Mt. San Antonio College since May 2023. Previously, Melba held the position of Vice President of Student Services at Santiago Canyon College from December 2021 to May 2023, and served as Dean of Student Success at Rio Hondo College from January 2018 to December 2021. Melba's earlier roles include Director of Educational Partnerships at California State University, Fullerton, and various director positions at the University of California, Riverside focused on academic successes and first-year student programs. Melba's career began with positions in outreach and academic intervention with Santa Ana College, UC Irvine, and Santa Ana Unified School District. Melba earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Arts in Social Sciences in Education from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
