Cameo Carlson has over 20 years of work experience in the music industry. Cameo is currently the CEO of mtheory LLC, providing service, strategy, and marketing resources to artist managers. Prior to this, they served as the President of mtheory Nashville from 2017 to 2022. Cameo also worked as Head of Digital Business Development at Borman Entertainment from 2011 to 2016, Executive Vice President of Universal Motown Republic Group from 2007 to 2011, Label Relations & Music Programming Manager at Apple Inc. (iTunes) from 2004 to 2007, Rock & Alternative Music Director at AOL Music/Spinner.com from 2000 to 2003, and Assistant Program Director/Music Director/Morning Show talent at KFMZ Radio from 1995 to 1999.

Cameo Carlson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Grinnell College in 1993. Cameo then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, which they completed in 2000.
