Senior Director Medical Communications And Education at Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation - MMRF

Mary DeRome has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Mary started their career as a scientist at Targetech in 1992, where they focused on human serum protein purification and characterization. After that, they joined Bayer HealthCare in 1995 as a Senior Investigator, where they served as a lab manager and led discovery research projects in oncology. During their time at Bayer HealthCare, they gained extensive bench experience in various biochemical and cellular assays. In 2007, they transitioned to Artificial Cell Technologies as a Senior Scientist, specializing in multiplex RT-qPCR for cytokine analysis and viral burden in mice, as well as other cell behavior modification analyses. Since 2014, Mary has been working at the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). Mary started as a Translational Research Manager and contributed to genomics data analysis, novel target/chemical matter/drug validation, grant program implementation, and precision-based trial development. Mary subsequently progressed to Director of Medical Communication and Education and is currently serving as the Senior Director in that department.

Mary DeRome attended Mark T Sheehan High School for an unknown duration of time. Mary then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut from 1979 to 1983. Mary later pursued a Master's degree in Molecular/Cell Biology from the same university, which they completed in 1992.
