George Taylor is a co-founder at Greenleaf, specializing in synthetic biology to develop novel crop protectants since January 2024. Prior to this, George served as Head of Ingredients (R&D) at Multus, focusing on animal-free growth media for the cultivated meat industry from June 2021 to March 2024, where responsibilities included management, strategy, execution, and partnerships. As a synthetic biologist at Better Dairy from November 2020 to May 2021, George engineered and optimized dairy protein expression in Pichia pastoris. George's extensive academic background includes a PhD in Synthetic Biology from Imperial College London, where research involved microbial production of high-value products, along with postdoctoral roles in vaccine production and sustainable product engineering. Additional experience includes internships in energy consulting and medicinal chemistry.
