Matt Sachtler has over 13 years of professional experience in software engineering. Matt began their career in 2007 as an Intern at UOP LLC. In 2008, they joined Space Exploration Technologies as an Avionics Software Intern, where they designed and built extensive tools to perform simulator analysis for the Falcon 1 rocket and built a real-time visualization system to display live flight data from Falcon 1. In 2009, they joined SpaceX as a Manager, Software Engineering, then was promoted to Principal Software Engineer and Lead Software Engineer, Launch Vehicle. In this role, they were responsible for system design, project management, and writing code for the Falcon family of launch vehicles, including Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and Grasshopper. Matt also served as a launch operator for Falcon 9 missions at SpaceX launch sites. In 2022, they joined Muon Space as a Software Engineer.
Matt Sachtler completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2005 and 2009.
