Robyn Owens is an accomplished academic and leader with extensive experience in higher education and research. Currently serving as a Senate Member at Murdoch University and Board Chair at ACCESS-NRI since 2021, Robyn also holds the position of Emeritus Professor at The University of Western Australia since 2020. Prior roles at UWA included Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, focusing on research policy and postgraduate education, and Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Research Training, where leadership in research training and policy development was paramount. Robyn’s academic foundation includes a BSc (Hons) and a DPhil in Mathematics from The University of Western Australia and the University of Oxford, respectively, where advanced studies were completed in 1976 and 1980. As a former Professor of Computer Science, Robyn led the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering and has participated in numerous national committees concerning research infrastructure.
