Raissa Kay is a Senior Scientist at Mursla, specializing in exosome diagnostics since September 2022. Prior to this role, Raissa served as a Scientific Officer in the Genomic Technology Development team at EMBL, focusing on spatial-omics technology from June 2021 to September 2022. Raissa's extensive experience includes a Post Doctoral Training Fellowship at the MRC Harwell Institute, where research centered on gonadal sex reversal at the single-cell level from February 2018 to July 2021, and a combination of roles as a Postdoctoral Scholar and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Riverside, from September 2011 to February 2018, investigating hybrid sterility in malaria-transmitting mosquitoes. Earlier experience includes time as a Research Associate at UCSF, managing mammalian and insect cell cultures, and providing caregiving services for a client with dementia and pancreatic cancer. Raissa holds a Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics from the University of California, Riverside, and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from the University of California, Davis.
