Amanda Wada

Amanda Wada has a diverse work experience in the field of museum education and arts. Amanda started their career in 2011 as a Graduate Assistant and Assistant to the Graduate Advisor at California State University, Long Beach. Amanda also served as an Instructor of Record and taught art-related courses at the university until 2014.

In 2015, Amanda joined the Norton Simon Museum as a Museum Educator and later became an Education Assistant. Amanda provided educational programs and assisted with various museum activities until 2023. During this time, they also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Cypress College from August to December 2015.

In 2016, Amanda worked as a Gallery Educator at ESMoA and an Art History Instructor at El Camino College for a short period.

From 2017 to 2018, Amanda served as an Arts Education Fellow for the ACTIVATE Program at Arts for LA, where they gained valuable experience in arts education.

In 2018, Amanda joined the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as a Teacher for Mobile Programs. Amanda conducted educational sessions in middle school classrooms, led art projects, and provided teacher in-services. Amanda continues to work at LACMA.

In the same year, Amanda also started working as an On-Call Public Programs Assistant at The Huntington, where they assist with public programs.

In 2019, they became a School Programs Coordinator at the J. Paul Getty Trust and held various roles at the Museum Educators of Southern California, including Vice President and Secretary.

Amanda's work experience demonstrates their passion for arts education and their commitment to providing engaging and educational experiences for students and the community.

Amanda Wada has a strong educational background in art and history. Amanda first attended El Camino College from 2005 to 2010, where they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in History. Amanda then pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree and continued their studies in Art History from 2008 to 2011 at California State University, Long Beach. Amanda further enhanced their knowledge and skills by completing their postgraduate studies at the same institution, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Art History from 2011 to 2015.
