Axel Surot has a diverse work experience in the field of archives and museums. Starting in 2014, they held an internship position as an archivist at Planning familial 49. In 2016, they interned as an archivist at École Française de Rome. Later that year, they joined the Archives of French Department of La Vendée as an archivist until 2018. Following this, they worked as a records manager at the University of Bordeaux for a brief period. In 2019, they became a records manager at the Archives of the city of Challans and later transitioned to the position of records manager at the Archives of French Department of La Vendée. From 2020 to 2022, they worked as an archivist and assistant curator at the Archives of French Department of Maine-et-Loire, where they were responsible for various tasks, including digitalization and statistical analysis. Currently, Axel is employed as a Science Presenter at the Museum of Discovery and Science.
Axel Surot's education history starts with a Bachelor's Degree in History from the Université d'Angers, which they obtained in 2014. Axel then pursued a Master's Degree in Archives Science at the same university from 2014 to 2016. In 2019, Axel obtained a certification in the French Public servant competition - Category A for "Heritage conservation officer" from CDG 35 Emploi (Centre de Gestion de la Fonction Publique Territoriale d'Ille et Vilaine). In 2022, they attended the Lingua Language Center in Fort Lauderdale to study the English language.
