Kimberly Hokanson

Director, Annual Membership Programs & Operations at The MFA

Kimberly Hokanson, EdD has extensive work experience in the field of institutional advancement and development. Kimberly is currently serving as the Director of Annual Membership Programs & Operations at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston since September 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Annual Programs at the same museum from March 2020 to September 2021.

Before joining the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Hokanson worked for the GEORGE & RAYMOND FRANK FOUNDATION as a Board Member from July 2015 to November 2020. Kimberly contributed to the foundation's mission of providing experiential educational opportunities for boys and young men.

Hokanson also served as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Regis College from an undisclosed date in 2019 to March 2020.

At Wellesley College, they held various roles including AVP for Development, Director of Individual Giving, and Director of Annual Giving. In their capacity as AVP for Development, they managed all individual giving programs for the college. Kimberly'stenure at Wellesley College spanned from April 2010 to March 2019.

Prior to joining Wellesley College, Hokanson worked at Bates College as the Director of Alumni & Parent Programs and Director of Annual Giving. Kimberly served in these positions from November 2000 to February 2010.

Hokanson began their career at Harvard University, where they held several roles including Managing Director and Deputy Director of the Harvard College Fund, Director of General Gifts, and Director of Operations for the Harvard College Fund. Kimberly'stenure at Harvard University spanned from 1991 to 2000.

Through their various roles, Hokanson has gained significant experience in fundraising, development operations, and individual giving programs in academic and cultural institutions.

Kimberly Hokanson, EdD received a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Colby College in 1981. Kimberly pursued higher education at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where they obtained an EdM in Higher Education Administration in 1987, followed by an EdD in the same field from 1987 to 1992. Prior to their college studies, Kimberly graduated from Brunswick High School, earning a diploma.
