Rebecca Matthews

Rebecca Matthews serves as the Director and CEO of ARoS since January 2022, while also contributing to the UK City of Culture 2025 as a member of the UK Government Expert Advisory Panel and to Musikhuset Aarhus as a member of the Arts Advisory Panel. Prior experience includes roles such as Board Member for VisitAarhus, Managing Director of Glasmuseet Ebeltoft, and Trustee for the Royal Albert Hall. Rebecca's leadership experience also encompasses serving as Director for Goodenough College and Chief Executive Officer for the Aarhus 2017 Foundation. Notable previous positions include Director of the British Council in New York and Global Partnerships, and Head of Government Relations at Sydney Opera House. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Arts from The Courtauld Institute of Art, and ongoing studies at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
