Maarten De Cuyper

Maarten De Cuyper is an experienced professional with a diverse background in the energy sector and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as the Chairman of the Board at VREG since February 2022, Maarten is also the Founding Chief Business Officer of Mutant™ and the Founding Father of WonderWeekend, a family festival in Plantentuin Meise, which ran from June 2016 to August 2023. Previously, Maarten held significant roles in various companies, including Advisory Board Member at Hashting, Chief Elegant Officer at Elegant—a co-founded Belgian energy supplier—and Owner of GreenFever, focused on renewable energy project development. Early career experiences include roles in international relations and technology consulting at Boondoggle, as well as R&D engineering for Audi at KULeuven. Maarten holds an MBA from Vlerick Business School and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven.
