Bob Musick is a partner in the Springfield, Missouri, office of MVP. Bob has practiced law since 1993 and joined the firm in 2006. He specializes in representation of employers and insurers in defense of Missouri workers' compensation claims. Bob enjoys advising human resources and risk management professionals on prevention and cost-mitigation of work injuries, and best practices in workers' compensation claim handling.
Perceiving an increase in permanent total disability claims against employers in Missouri workers’ compensation, many of which seem dubious, Bob believes that rigorous preparation and aggressive defense in conducting discovery is crucial. His success in defense of workers’ compensation claims involves frequent cross-examination of adverse expert witnesses, including physicians, psychologists, and vocational experts.
Before joining MVP, Bob served as an Illinois Assistant State’s Attorney and tried dozens of cases in both jury trials and bench trials. Bob also was in private practice in the St. Louis metropolitan area, handling mass tort cases involving asbestos exposure in Circuit Courts in Missouri and Illinois.
Bob followed his late father into the practice of law and always knew that he would become an attorney. Fulfilling this desire has brought him great personal and professional satisfaction. Bob took up long-distance running in anticipation of his 50th birthday and intends to complete a marathon in all 50 states.
