Joel Lusk's work experience starts in 2012 when they worked as a Virology/Serology Technician at the Arizona State Public Health Laboratory. In this role, they prepared media, performed daily QC on mammalian cell culture, worked in a BSL 3 laboratory, and aided in the isolation of viruses from cell culture.

Most recently, in 2022, Lusk joined Microvascular Therapeutics as a Senior Lead Scientist, where their current role and responsibilities are not specified.
Joel Lusk attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Arizona State University in the years 2007 to 2012. Following this, Joel pursued further academic achievement and successfully completed a Ph.D. in Biological Design from Arizona State University from 2016 to 2022.
