Zofia Kostyrko

Zofia Kostyrko has extensive experience in conceptual development and design for location-based leisure and entertainment destinations, including resorts, zoos, museums, aquaria, and theme parks. Zofia has worked as the Creative Director, Principal Artist, and Owner of deZign sKape LLC since 2000, where they are currently involved in various projects such as storytelling wearables, themed lighting fixtures, outdoor sculptural installations, and animation shorts.

In 2016, Zofia joined MYCOTOO, Inc. as the Creative Director, collaborating on the development of themed attractions and destinations. Currently, they are working on reinventing and expanding a science exhibit at the Morehead Planetarium in the University of North Carolina.

From 2013 to 2015, Zofia was a Featured Artist at the Aquarium of the Pacific, presenting a fine art portrait exhibit celebrating prominent marine explorers. Zofia also worked as an Art Director at Riva Creative USA in 2013, contributing to the concept development of the MotionGate theme park in UAE.

Zofia has been a consultant and exhibit designer for various projects, including the NOAA National Marine Sanctuaries, where they developed concepts and directed multiple exhibits in visitor centers across the United States. Zofia has also worked as a concept designer and design consultant for Thinkwell Design & Production, Lexington, Seruto & Co., and Hettema and Associates.

Zofia Kostyrko attended ArtCenter College of Design from 1981 to 1985, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Their studies at the college focused on the fields of illustration, graphic design, and fine arts.
