Thach Chu has been working in the field of science since 2009. In 2010, they worked as a Summer Researcher at the University of Rochester, researching vapor deposited organic polymers. In 2011, they were a Postgraduate Research Associate at Yale University School of Medicine, studying the role of the innate immune system in cancer biology. From 2009 to 2013, they were an Engineering Ambassador at the Hajim School of Engineering, University of Rochester, where they met with prospective students to discuss the school and life as a student and engineer. From 2013 to 2019, they were a Graduate Student at Dartmouth College, exploring the use of immunoglobulin 3 (IgG3) and engineered variants as universally enhancing backbones for improving monoclonal therapeutic drugs. Since 2019, they have been a Scientist at Simcere Innovation, driving projects to explore the use of armored CAR T cell therapy to treat solid tumors (HCC). In 2021, they became a Senior Scientist at Myeloid Therapeutics.
Thach Chu obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester between 2007 and 2011. Thach then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Fc Antibody Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, which they completed in 2019. Additionally, they have a certification in Fundamentals of Engineering from New York State.
