Laura Bryan has been working in the field of mental health since 1993. Laura began their career as a Staff Member at CrisisLine in 1993 and then moved on to become a Therapist at Employee Assistance Program in 1998. In 2004, they opened their own Private Therapy Practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Laura then joined St. Mary's University as a Clinical Administrator in 2007 and Texas Tech University as a Visiting Professor in 2006. In 2012, they joined Pfeiffer University as a Site Director and Clinic Director, where they were responsible for promoting and managing Pfeiffer Institute Reach, the training clinic for the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. In 2013, Laura became the Capital Chapter Director at NCAMFT and in 2016, they took on the role of Ethics Chair at NCAMFT. Most recently, in 2018, Laura joined the McLaughlin Young Group as an EAP Director and EAP Clinician and Services Specialist.
Laura Bryan has a comprehensive educational background. Laura obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Furman University between 1989 and 1993. Laura then went on to receive their Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, General from Texas Tech University between 1995 and 1998. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University from 1998 to 2003. In addition to their academic qualifications, Laura Bryan has obtained four certifications. These include a Certified Employee Assistance Professional from the Employee Assistance Professionals Association in July 2022, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from the North Carolina Marriage and Family Therapy Licensure Board in August 2012, a Clinical Fellow from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy in 2007, and a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator and Seminar Director from Life Innovations, Inc.
