Charles Garcia Stewart

Charles Garcia Stewart is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in communication and signal processing, currently serving as Team Leader for R&D in Free Space Laser Communications at Mynaric since August 2014. In this role, Charles leads the development of advanced communication architecture and signal processing solutions for laser communication terminals. Additionally, Charles has held the position of Communication & Signal Processing Design Engineer, focusing on the architecture of free space laser communication modems for prominent American and European corporations. Prior to Mynaric, Charles worked at Sonardyne International from 2006 to August 2014, where responsibilities included the design of acoustic underwater modems and the development of various telemetry and error correction schemes. Charles holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering from The University of Manchester, with a minor concentration in spectroscopic instrumentation and image algorithms for tomography.
