Sandy Miranda

Sandy Miranda has a diverse work experience in various fields. In 1984, they started their own business called Miranda Writes, where they worked as an independent owner, writing memoirs, radio broadcasts, anthologies, movie reviews, music reviews, blogs, and poetry. Sandy also contributed to women's studies anthologies.

In 1988, Miranda began working at KPFA Pacifica Radio as a Broadcast Journalist and Producer. Sandy hosted music and public affairs programs, interviewed musicians and authors, and hosted fundraising programs. Sandy continued this role until 2015.

In 1993, Miranda started working as a Freelance Writer and Pre-Concert Lectures Presenter at Stanford University. Sandy wrote for the Lively Arts magazine, focusing on world music, and gave preconcert lectures on world music performers. Sandy conducted interviews with artists and published them. Sandy worked at Stanford University until 2006.

In 1998, Miranda became a Voting Member of The Recording Academy, also known as The Grammys.

In 2005, Miranda worked as the Web Site Manager and Producer for a music project at the 2006 Olympics in Torino, Italy. Sandy produced the website, recruited staff, and organized performances by artists for two weeks before the nightly medals ceremonies.

In 2007, Miranda established their own publishing company called Watergoddess Press, where they worked as an Owner and Author. Sandy also taught a course called "Writing Life Stories" at various organizations.

In 2008, they worked as a Producer for the Center for the Divine Feminine at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Sandy developed web content and produced a CD of meditative music by women in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Since 2007, Miranda has occasionally hosted the Folk Music & Beyond radio show on KALW FM in San Francisco, where they had the opportunity to travel and work on other projects and produce special programs.

In 2011, Miranda worked as the Chief Philanthropic Officer for Mystic Video, where they supported films about Hawaiian Slack Key Musicians.

Sandy Miranda's education history includes a Master of Arts degree in Humanities/Consciousness & Transformation from the California Institute of Integral Studies, obtained from 2004 to 2005. They also completed a Producer degree in Recording Engineering at San Francisco State University from 1995 to 1996. There is no specific information regarding the start and end years for their studies at the Esalen Institute and Pacifica Graduate Institute.
