Seema Kumar

Dr. Seema Pania Kumar is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. She currently practices in Lifestyle Medicine, Venous /Lymphatic disease, and Occupational Medicine. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a BSc in Neurobiology with honors, she attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Master’s in Public Policy in Health Services Research at Georgetown University.

Dr Seema Kumar has an interest in both clinical practices as well as emerging issues related to modern healthcare. She was instrumental in developing a measure of patient experience that is now in widespread use. She has publications from bench research and continues to speak on topics of Venous and Lifestyle Medicine both to medical and general audiences. In the past, she has been active in clinical and bench research.

Dr. Seema Kumar has a special interest in chronic disease, health education, and patient self-empowerment. Dr. Kumar lives in Arlington VA with her husband and has three children and a dog. She enjoys traveling with her family, exploring the arts in DC metro and spending time with friends.
