Rik Molenaars

Rik Molenaars is a highly qualified medical professional specializing in sports medicine, currently serving as Team Physician for the Dutch National football teams across various age levels (U17, U15, U14) and the Dutch national futsal team under 19. Since April 2022, Rik has also held the role of Team Physician at N.E.C. Nijmegen's Youth Academy. Rik's medical training includes a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Science (MSc) from the University of Amsterdam, alongside a PhD in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Previous experience includes positions at Canisius Wilhelmina Ziekenhuis as an AIOS in Sports Medicine and Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis as an ANIOS in Cardiology. Rik's research background includes a visiting researcher role at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, focusing on ulnar collateral ligament injuries in overhead athletes.
