Julia Ruane

Julia Ruane serves as the Director of Regional Affairs at NAFSA: Association of International Educators, where leadership encompasses vision and strategy for 11 regions in the United States and the management of key internal and external relationships. Prior experience includes roles as Project Manager at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, where Julia supported contracts with the Defense Language Institute, and as an intern at the US-China Education Trust, focusing on research and event support. Julia has also worked as an English language teacher in Shanghai and held various other positions in education, marketing, and public relations. Julia holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature with a minor in Asian Studies from the University of Mary Washington and a certificate in Mandarin Language Training from Yunnan University.
