Carmen Gomes

Carmen has her Ph.D. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering. She is an Associate Professor in the ISU Department of Mechanical Engineering. Carmen has over 19 years of experience working in food processing engineering to develop effective solutions for food safety testing. She is responsible for the detection chemistry, bacteria maintenance, research design and performance testing, and managing all outside collaborations to develop the rapid biosensor system.
