Janet McCormack Suzio has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Janet McCormack began their career in 1970 as a self-employed interior designer. In 2005, they became the Principal of Saint Charles School, where they served until 2008. From 2008 to 2012, Janet worked as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of San Francisco, overseeing the religious training and certification of teachers and supervising school programs. Janet McCormack then served as the Principal of Saint Nicholas Academy from 2012 to 2013. In 2014, Janet worked as an academic tutor at Sylvan Learning Center and as a substitute teacher at Napa Valley Unified School District. Janet McCormack also briefly held the position of Director K-5 at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in 2015. Janet retired from their work as an educator in 2016, having also retired previously in 2015 from the Sonoma County Office of Education.

In 1968, they transferred to the University of the Pacific and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Art in 1971. At the same institution, they also pursued a California Teaching Credential in Early Childhood and Standard Elementary, completing it in 1972. Additionally, they obtained a California Credential in Early Childhood Preschool to Grade 3 in the same year. Later, they attended the University of San Francisco from 1988 to 1990, where they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Educational Leadership.
