Jack Hsu

Jack Hsu is a JavaScript Architect specializing in Angular and React, currently employed at Narwhal Technologies. Jack has over ten years of experience in the software development industry.

Jack started their career as a Sr. Software Developer at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research in 2009. Jack then moved on to Adjuno in 2011 as a Web Developer. In 2012, they became a Sr. Web Developer at Wave Accounting. Jack then transitioned to Nulogy in 2013 as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they stayed for two years before moving to Pressly in 2015 as a Web Developer. In 2017, Jack joined Vision Critical as Lead Web Developer, and they remained there until September 2018 when they accepted their current position at Narwhal Technologies.

Throughout their career, Jack has been consistently involved in initiatives to modernize web applications using the latest technologies. Jack has led projects to replace the Rails Asset Pipeline with gulp and RequireJS for JavaScript files, and they have also played a major role in determining the future direction of client-side applications (ES6, ES7, frameworks, architecture).

Jack Hsu's educational career began with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo. Jack followed that up with a degree in Music from Cawthra Park Secondary School.
