Gail Woods Waller has extensive work experience in the field of communications and marketing. Gail started their career at Full Employment Council-Kansas City in 1991 as a Special Assistant to the President & CEO, where they organized private sector youth employment campaigns and helped raise funds for summer jobs. In 1995, they joined the Mayor's Office of Employment Development-Baltimore as a Communications Manager, where they developed and implemented marketing communications plans and served as the agency spokesperson. Since 2001, Gail has been working for the National Association of Social Workers, initially as a Communications Director, leading a team of specialists and coordinating national public education campaigns. In 2014, they became the Deputy Director - Membership, Marketing, and Communications, responsible for membership engagement and marketing efforts. Currently, they hold the position of Chief of Membership and Communications.

Gail Woods Waller began their education at the University of Michigan from 1987 to 1991. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Communications. Later on, they went on to attend The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Marketing Management in 2003. Prior to their university studies, Gail also attended O'Hara High School, although no information regarding their degree or field of study at that institution is provided.
