Brent Heard

Brent Heard is a Senior Program Officer at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, involved in projects focusing on electricity system operability, ARPA-E assessments, methane removal technologies, and decarbonization efforts. Prior experiences include roles as a Program Officer and Associate Program Officer, conducting research on environmental impacts of technologies in food systems while at the University of Michigan, and earlier positions at Carnegie Mellon University and The National Academies, contributing to studies on transportation behaviors and food security. Brent earned a Ph.D. in Resource Policy and Behavior from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics with a focus on Environmental Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
