Katherine (Katie) Wilkes is an experienced communications professional with a robust background in public affairs, media relations, and storytelling. Currently serving as a Consultant and Story Producer for the American Red Cross since January 2011, Wilkes has also held key roles including National Spokesperson for Disaster Public Affairs and Emergency Communications Delegate for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. In addition to volunteer work with sea turtles at the National Aquarium, Wilkes co-founded Freeheart Creative, promoting inspiring narratives of female trailblazers. With experience in freelance communications and positions at various organizations, including Res Publica Group and Clif Bar & Company, Wilkes has developed a diverse skill set in digital strategy, crisis management, and content creation, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Media from DePaul University.
