Lauren Fauth

Director Of Conservation Education at National Aquarium

Lauren Fauth has a strong background in conservation education, with their most recent position being Director of Conservation Education at the National Aquarium since January 2023. Prior to this role, they were the Manager of Education Programs at the National Aquarium from October 2019 to January 2023. Lauren also served as the School Programs Coordinator at the National Aquarium from May 2012 to October 2019. Before joining the National Aquarium, Lauren worked as a Special Activities Instructor at both the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores from May 2011 to May 2012 and the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher from February 2009 to August 2010. Additionally, they held a position as an Education Specialist- School Programs at the National Aquarium from August 2010 to May 2011.

Lauren Fauth holds a Master's Degree in Park and Resource Management and Environmental Education, which they obtained from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Marine Biology and Ocean Science and Coastal Studies at Millersville University of Pennsylvania from 2005 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Lauren Fauth has obtained various certifications. In June 2021, they obtained First Aid/AED/CPR certification from the American Heart Saver. In 2015, they earned their Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross. Lauren is also trained as a Growing Up WILD Facilitator, Introduction to Canoe/Trip Leading from the American Canoe Association, and as a Project Learning Tree Facilitator. Furthermore, they have received training as a facilitator for Project WET, Project WILD, and WOW (Wonderful Outdoor World) programs.
