Michael O'Connor is an accomplished academic and leader in the field of education, currently serving as President of the Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN) since November 2022 and as an Associate Professor at Western Sydney University, where involvement spans multiple significant roles including health innovations stream lead and unit coordinator for various courses. With nominations for teaching excellence awards in 2022 and a strong focus on enhancing research and employability skills through the Graduate Certificate in Researcher Engagement, Development and Impact, Michael O'Connor has made substantial contributions to the educational landscape. In addition to academic roles, Michael O'Connor has held leadership positions in professional organizations, including as President of the Australasian Society for Stem Cell Research and Director of the Molecular Medicine Research Group, and currently serves as a Technical Assessor for the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia.
